Imagine that there is a beautiful, glowing ribbon of cobalt blue lying in the center of your head. Whenever you want, you can give yourself a healing and revitalizing energetic "treatment" by visualizing this ribbon emerging from the top of the head and making its way in a flowing pattern all over the body.
As it emerges from the crown chakra, it comes down over the forehead, nose, mouth, chin and so forth, moving down the midline of the front of the body. At the level of the pubis it splits into two glowing cobalt ribbons, one moving down the front of each leg, over the middle toe, crossing the sole of the foot, and returning up the back of the legs. At the hips the two beautiful moving ribbons rejoin over the sacrum and continue up the spine to the level of the shoulders. There they split again, moving down the outside of the arms and hands and back up again on the inside surface. It is helpful to imagine the tip of the ribbon moving, in your mind's eye, over each inch of the way, without skipping any of the path. The ribbon then rejoins as one again at the back of the neck, ascends the neck, then splits again to travel over the ears, and then up to the crown chakra again .
You can make the entire circuit once or several times. At the conclusion of your meditation, imagine that the entire length of the ribbon pours itself back into the center of your head where it lies, glowing, waiting for the next time you do the visualization. I do the Ribbon Meditation each morning and I feel it awakens my vital force or chi, and empowers my healing. Sometimes I picture the flowing "ribbon" as a stream of thick, blue energy, bubbling with life and flowing in that wonderful way that lava flows like on the learning channel.
I really hope you enjoy this meditation...I love sharing it with you here on the web page.
Note: The following meditation is contributed by my friend, Ellen O. Bierhorst. Traditional Jewish archangels and locations plus the the pyramid structure and the colors are from B. Brennan.
Introduction:
Bedtime prayers from ancient times in Judaism have included the invocation of four protective archangels: Michael on the right, for Chesed, the loving kindness of our Godliness; Gabriel on the left, for Gevurah, or godly strength; Uriel in front for vision; and Raphael behind for well-being. Then all around one is visualized the golden light of Shekinah, the indwelling spirit of God, or the Divine feminine. The MeditationIn 1990 I learned a Christianized version of the Pyramid meditation from Barbara Brennan, author of Hands of Light and Light Emerging who had received it from Doskelos, a Greek Orthodox holy man and healer on the island of Cyprus, the subject of The Magus of Stropolos. This is no doubt from the tradition of Christian Kabbalah. In this version Uriel is positioned above the head, and the Logos of Christ is seen as the white light in front.
In the version I learned from Barbara, Michael is seen as a red panel in the pyramid, and corresponds to the blood and to the fires of metabolism. Raphael is seen on the left, with the color violet, and carrying the meaning of the etheric or energy body (first level of the field in Barbara's system). Gabriel is seen as behind, blue in color, and meaning the waters of the body and the emotions. She also taught that the square below us, forming the base of the pyramid, is the archangel Shamael, orange in color, and is the spirit of the earth and earthly incarnation. The white triangle in front was the "Christ Logos" or the idea of the messiah, and Uriel was a radiance arching from left to right over the pyramid.
According to Doskelos, everyone has these four archangels around them, holding them in life. When as angels we made the decision to incarnate as humans, we "passed through the archetype of the human" and descended to earth, bringing with us the four Archangels. From Shamael, the earth, we drew up our bodies. Were it not for the energies of the Archangels, we would instantly die, our physical form returning to the earth. Also, if we could but surrender completely in every moment to our archangels we would be in perpetual health and well - being.
When I discovered the ancient Jewish Kabbalistic roots of the meditation I readapted it in pyramid form, combining the colors from Barbara but rearranging the Angels according to ancient tradition.
Picture a pyramid, square base and triangular sides meeting over your head. The base might be four feet on a side. Imagine that the triangular panel on your right is beginning to fill with red light, from the base moving towards the peak above your head. Imagine the color of red, red lipstick, or of red poppies, or of red roses.Holding the red triangle in mind, begin to imagine the left triangle, Gabriel, filling with blue light. Perhaps it is the cobalt blue of the twilight sky, or of the heavens seen from the stratosphere. When this triangle is filled, move to the front and imagine it filling up with brilliant white light. The brightness of the white light fills you with pleasure and opens the forehead chakra (energy center), as though the eyes of your heart could see forever.
Holding the image of the red, blue and white triangles, begin to imagine that the remaining triangle, behind you, Raphael, is filling with the color that is the combination of the red of Michael on the right with Gabriel's blue on the left. When the violet triangle is filled, imagine a golden mist all around, twinkling and sparkling beautifully.
Now imagine that in the center of your head there is a small pyramid of gold.
Now let yourself connect with your intention. Perhaps it is of a specific healing of your body. It could also be and intention of mental or spiritual healing or help for yourself or even for another.
Finally, imagine that you are surrendering completely into the care of the four Archangels and Shekinah, assured of the perfect fulfillment of your request. Take a few moments to drink in the pleasure of this confidence and fulfillment.

I am a clinical psychologist in private practice in Cincinnati, and I am Therese's friend. I enjoy helping Therese with dinner on most Saturday nights, and I am proud to say that I am the conch shell blower for the "Goddess and Guru" piece, which I consider to be a miraculous and powerful gift of music. All blessings to you, visitor to Therese's web page.P.S. Why not join Therese now in this meditation, taking a few minutes of your time, and letting this be a prayer for her "refuah shlema", her complete healing from heaven. As the old Jewish woman said, offering chicken soup for a broken leg, "It couldn't hurt!"
