The Worldly Side
I'm spiritual, but also a regular guy. I have been writing songs since 1968
and have written over 1,000. These include love songs, children's songs,
comical pieces, social and political commentary - in a variety of musical
styles.
My group, The Cobblestones, recorded a cassette of old time popular songs:
When You're Smiling
Remember Me
Peoria
Let Me Call You Sweetheart
My Gal Sal
Hello Mary Lou
Minnie the Mermaid
Good Ship Lollipop
Nobody's Sweetheart
I Dream of Jeannie
The Cobblestones are myself on guitar and vocals, Jeff Roberts on banjo,
Dave Edmundson on
mandolin and fiddle, and Jon Weisberger on bass. These musicians also played
on I Choose Torah and on Eternally Hopeful.
I wrote a song for the Mike McConnell Show, Cincinnati's Number One Radio
Talk Show,
WLW, 700 AM.
The station played the song regularly for a week, after which Mike McConnell
invited us to play the song live on his show.
I added two verses plus an instrumental break.
On June 7, 1996, The Cobblestones played the song live on the McConnell
Show. It has been officially adopted as the show's theme song.
